today has been rockish so far! i woke up at 3am to study and it's around 2pm now. it seems like a very long time since i woke up but it's still early! i just love waking up early! but not that early..

I just had my accounting test today which went alright. Then i had my law lecture. It was crazy.
"Taxation 101" as the lecturer calls it. He went like a cruise missile. In that one hour i copied 5 a4 pages of notes about tax.. so tiring. The lecturer's name is jason. He should be in his late 20s, speaks very loudly without the mic, dresses very cooly, has a nice hairstyle and can identify with the students. This is how lecturers should be. But then he's too violent with the chalkboard and chalk.. and on a seperate note, why is australia still using chalkboards?? When i was in upper primary they switched over to whiteboards already. Oh well, this country is too developed already. haiz.. maybe they use chalkboards cos it looks cool.. or maybe for practical reasons cos chalks won't run out of ink.

Anyway, another of my favourite lecturers is one of my finance lecturers. He should be in his 30s and he has a phD already. So he gets to put the "Dr." in front of his name which is quite fun.
last week he said, "when you get older, every textbook is rubbish." it's quite true.. Then he went on to say how university textbooks are always not up to date. For example after the publishers spend maybe 5 years researching on the information, they write the book, print the book, market them, distribute them and then universities use them. By the time it gets into the hands of the students, some information in the textbooks are at least 2 years back in time. This probably doesn't apply to arts textbooks.
Then a smart genius looking student in a black suit asks, "why are we using an american finance textbook? this is australia!" Lol.. he thought he had a good question but then the lecturer went on to criticise australian textbooks, "they're not up to standard, the market is not big enough, why would you want to study australia's financial markets when america's one is so much bigger and better? etc.." but then next semester the uni will switch over to an australian textbook for this subject cos apparently some high up and powerful member of the university is writing the textbook.

Oh well, i'm sleepy. Still have to go shopping later for a bday present for my cousin. argh.
