Did you know a baby has more than 300 'bones', but most of these are made up of flexible cartilage. Therefore it is much harder to break your bones when you are small (they bend rather than break). During childhood, true bone gradually replaces nearly all of the cartilage. Now, as we are fully mature, we only have 206 bones.
