trip to china - part one
ni xian zai de wei zhi - the location you at now.that was a sign in a public area! can't they just pay someone ten dollars (like me) to help them do a proper transalation instead of translating directly?
e.g. this is where you are now. or, here you are! or, you are here. or, in this place you stand. or, =X
China - The land of the crazy driversi have never ever been so scared in my life. On the last day on the way to the airport in shanghai, my life flashed before me. Imagine, a two litre manual taxi going at 160km/h (speed limit is 80km/h) weaving in and out of traffic, ignoring signals of other cars, while talking on the handphone. If i wasn't afraid of being kidnapped, i would for sure have told the driver to slow down and i would have given him twenty more dollars. I know fear is the opposite of faith and we are supposed to have faith.. But i was scared. Scared till my mother and i started laughing. hahahaha.. and i was praying in tongues quietly.. didn't care that my unbelieving my mother was right next to me.. i wanted to live.
And that's not all! Pedestrains DO NOT have the right of way while crossing the road - Including zebra crossings. Like why in the world do they paint those stripes on the road if vehicles ignore them? ended up diaoing and shouting at impatient drivers. Like what's the rush? you accelerate pass the zebra crossing only to stop a few metres away at a traffic jam. hahaha~ -____-
